Jeremy's blog inspired me to share...
A battle rages in my head
Between wisdom and folly
Between love and insanity
How can I be so wrong
And yet think I'm so right?
Wisdom says, "think before you speak, then say nothing"
Folly says, "let it out, you'll feel better, and right"
Love says, "don't be stupid, unconditional love is not conditional"
Insanity says, "give in to the voices and talk talk talk"
Who will it hurt
When shattered opinions crash to the floor?
When lies and arrogance mix to become a deadly poison
Poised to kill hopes and dreams young lovers wish and pray for?
Close your eyes
Say a prayer
Drink deep of love until morning
Bid farewell to insanity
Say goodbye to folly
As they follow fear and hate down the dead paths
To the shadows heart and home
Turn in the season of repentance
Where the forgiveness flowers give off their scent
To wisdom and love and walk with them
As you live and love and show your one and only
Why she's your one and only.

I love that fourth stanza there. Love: the natural remedy we need to partake of so, so often.
Well clearly "grass clippings" was not the only poem you had in you. This is well constructed and deep and meaningful. I like it!
