Summertime, Summertime...

so, i thought, hmm...i think it's time for another blog, and what could be better but summer sharing!!

of course the summer started off with a huge event called the marathon. it was grueling and hard, and i'm training again for next year. you can read the full synopsis on an older blog. i would tag it here, but i'm not really that technosavvy.

one of the best days of the summer involved a day with ryan & julia and edgar, rachel and josiah. we went to the nude beach, then it got really windy, so we went back to the city, where we had this impromptu potluck. tasty beverages followed in the garage sittin' with the guys. meanwhile a huge storm formed, and we watched the whole thing unfold from the garage. lightening, wind, sheets of rain, claps of thunder...good times!! as you can see, we are not nude.

this summer, i also had a chance to see my friend from high school, whom i haven't seen in about 4 years get married. it was very interesting and weird to see people from my past, and catch up, hence the odd look on my face. i think we were looking into the sun, hence the odd look on brian's face.

then came the epic family canoe trip. three days of fun and frolic. the following is gareth (my brother-in-law) striking his famous mermaid pose.

here's gareth's wife, my sister, picking her booger filled nose...

...joel, who wishes he was david hasselhoff...

and the lovely couple...

oh, and then we had an epic camping trip with ryan and julia. we went to clear lake, and we had the best campsite ever! it was in a bay, and the 3 other campsites were occupied with a family who left on saturday and was replaced with no one. sweet!! in this photo, kimberly seems to be very excited about the cereal.

the lake...it's clear...

this fellow visited us at our campsite...

as did this fellow...

oh, the painting party. more like a weeklong kegger! it took so long to paint everything we needed to paint. of course, i had a minimal role. i truly believe mom (below...my mom) is a paintaholic, and is addicted to paintahol...and her addiction rubbed off a bit on kimberly. now she has to go to PA meetings.

sassy kimberly...

and finally, kimberly threw me a surprise birthday party, which i really really enjoyed and appreciated. here's me trying not to get burned.

there were a lot of other events that happened over the summer, but these pictures illustrated the highlights well. so rock on!!

oh, the baby name contest is still on. we'll keep checking it. it was just time for a new post.
